Jessica Gurney has both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Violin Performance from the University of Utah where she took from Barbara Scowcroft. She also has training and great love for the viola. Growing up in a musical family, Jessica received many opportunities to perform chamber music with her siblings as well as observe and learn teaching methods from her mother Shauna Bowman. She has been teaching privately for 17 years. Jessica believes in the importance of chamber and orchestral experiences as well as providing many performance opportunities for students in her studio. She teaches using many different methods and believes the repertoire and method taught should be based on the student's needs. Jessica is also the artistic director of The Lindon Chamber Music Society as well as the conductor of T.A.C.O. (The Awesome Children's Orchestra) and L.Y.O. (Lindon Youth Orchestra). Passionate about bringing music to all in the community she is also starting a new adaptive drum class.
