December Update

Hello All!

Thank you for all of your efforts in the past recital.  Now that it is December 1st, I just wanted to remind everyone of the schedule this month.

I will be teaching normal lessons the first two weeks of December, and Group Class will be the third week.  Here are the dates.

Group Class #2

Little Ones: (Pr-k through 1st grade) Monday, December 18th from 3:00-4:00 p.m.


Elementary: (2nd-6th grade) Monday, December 18th from 4:00-5:30 p.m.

Junior High: Tuesday, December 19th from 3:30-5:00 p.m.

High School: Wednesday, December 20th at 6:oo p.m. - Performance at Bel Aire Assisted Living Facility, 436 700 N, Orem, UT 84097.  We will be performing Christmas music for the seniors at this facility.  The performance will be about 40 min.

There are NO REGULAR LESSONS DURING GROUP CLASS WEEK. 

After group classes there will be no lessons until Wednesday January 3rd.  We will then resume our normal schedule.  I am excited for the music of the season and look forward to working on this music with my students.  Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Fall Recital and Group Class Reminder

Hello All!

Thanks for voting on the recital.  It was pretty close but the later date was the winner.  The Fall Recital will be:

Monday, November 27th at 6:30 p.m.

or

Wednesday, November 29th at 6:30 p.m.


Please let me know if you have a conflict with either date and we will try to make one of the recitals work.  There will be no regular lessons the week of the recital but definitely some rehearsals for groups on Monday through Wednesday.

Next, here's just a little reminder that group classes are this week.  Group classes take the place of regular lessons for the week.  Here are the dates and times.

Group Classes

Hello All!

Just wanted to update you with some Group Class and Recital Dates dates.  For those of you who are new, Group Classes are a great way for students to gain performance experience as well as learn music history and theory.  The very best part is there are donuts! Group Classes take the place of regular lessons for that week.   Here are our Group Class dates for this semester.

Group Class #1

Little Ones: (Pr-k through 1st grade) Monday October 16th from 3:00-4:00 p.m.

Elementary: (2nd-6th grade) Monday, October 16th from 4:00-5:30 p.m.

Junior High: Tuesday, October 17th from 3:30-5:00 p.m.

High School: No group class but an opportunity to serve! We will be playing for the Lindon Senior Center during the break.  Details to come!


Recital Dates

I usually try to get this recital done the week before Thanksgiving but there have been some conflicts, so I'm putting the decision to you of when we should hold the recital.  I have sent you an email  with a google form where you can select your preference for recital dates. Change of Plans!

Hello All!

Slight change of plans! Found out we've been double booked due to a mistake in the computer system and so my options were either to change to a different park or do it inside.  As my back yard is too tiny to host and the other parks have little to no shade I've opted to have the recital inside.  Obviously this is disappointing and I'm so sorry for the inconvenience but we will have air conditioning! So the new location for the recital tomorrow will be at the Lindon Community Center where our regular recitals are held.  Don't hesitate to ask any questions.  See you tomorrow!

Fiddle Recital Week

Hello All!

School has started and we are officially one week away from our Fiddle Recital! First, I would like to thank you all for being patient through the ordeal of my hand surgery.  You have all been patient with last minute cancellations and my inability to play very much and I really appreciate it.  Now, let's talk about the fiddle recital.  Here is your formal invitation.  Feel free to share it with whomever you like.



Recital starts at 6:30 but students need to be there at 6:15. Dress is casual and if you want, any cowboy/cowgirl attire is welcome! 




Now for the rehearsals.  There will be no regular lessons next week due to the fiddle recital rehearsals. Since we are doing mostly group numbers, some rehearsals are needed to make sure we all know what we are doing.

If you would please send me an email with all the dates you know you will be gone, that would be marvelous. Summer is a time that is usually much easier for me to find a make-up lesson so please just let me know if you'd like that as an option for the times you will be gone.

There will be no group classes over the summer. 

The next event for our studio will be The Fiddle Recital on August 31st at 6:00 pm at Lindon City Park - 200 N. State St. This is a favorite event for students and parents alike! 

Now onto the policy change. 

Over the past year you have all been very patient with me as I added a new little person to our family. Because of the chaos of having a new baby, I chose to revert back to charging by the lesson as it was difficult for me to offer any sort of make-up lessons. Now that Genevieve is a little older I'm going to return to a tuition based system. This means that every month you will pay $100 for a 1/2 lesson slot and $120  for a 45 min slot regardless if there are 4 or 5 lessons in the month.  The only month where this will change is December. You will only pay  $75 for 30 min lessons or $90 for 45 min lessons. This means it will be much easier for you to budget for lessons. No longer do you have to wonder how much you owe every month because the annual tuition will be evenly divided into even payments!  This will help free up time and energy for both you and I since we will no longer wonder how much lessons are each month. If you have something come up and cannot attend lessons I have a few options for you. 

1. I will offer makeup lessons on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 10:00 am -12:00 pm. 

2. You can utilize the Switch List.  I am creating a Switch List for my studio. If you choose to be on the list, then I will add your name, number, and time slot to the list and if someone is need of a switched time for that week then they may contact you and ask if it's a possibility. This means that if you have something come up,( i.e. Illness, accident, school play, soccer game, orchestra dress rehearsal, desperate need to attend the circus) then you have the option of contacting someone on the list for a switch. This is completely optional. If you do not wish to have your information available to others you don't need to opt in. 

If you do not choose to use either option you are still responsible for payment of that lesson despite your absence. Please be assured that your tuition is always working for your child as I spend a great deal of time outside of lessons choosing repertoire, planning, strategizing, attending competitions, etc. So, even if you have to miss a lesson and cannot use the alternatives offered, you don’t have to worry about receiving less for your tuition. You’ll be receiving more energy, enthusiasm and a more successful lesson each week since I will have the appropriate time to give.

This policy change will go into affect in August 2017.
