Just a reminder of what is happening this week.  I know that these can be a little bit tricky to attend but I really appreciate you all taking the effort come.  I think it is a good experience to perform in front of one's peers and doughnuts are always an added bonus.

Church dress or nice dress pants for the ladies.  Boy are not required to wear ties if it interferes with holding the violin or viola.  Please arrive a few minutes early to get tuned so we can start on time So excited to have our fall recital!

Fall Recital Dates

They are finally here! So sorry it took so long.  There will be two dates and you or your child will only play in one of them.  Here are the dates.

Thursday, November 14th 6:00-7:00 p.m.

and

Wednesday, November 20th 6:00-7:00 p.m.

If one of these dates will not work for you, please let me know A.S.A.P.  If you are able to attend either date then I will assign you one in the next two weeks.  There will be a fee of $10 if you will be using the accompanist.

The recital will be held at The Brigham Larson Recital Hall.  The address is

Reminders and Opportunities

Just a reminder that I will not be teaching Monday, September 2nd because of Labor Day.  I hope you all have something fun planned.  I will also be taking off October 8th-14th just to give you all a heads up.

Now I'm going to toot my own horn for a minute.  I am now the conductor of a youth orchestra!  I'm just loving working with young musicians in an orchestra setting.  I mainly have children from ages 5-13 in my orchestra and would love any of you who are interested to join if you feel so inclined.  Seriously no pressure from me but if it is something you are interested in, check out the website here.

Fall Updates 2013

Welcome back! I've already seen a few of you this week at your new times and I'm exited to see the rest of you.  I just have a few updates for the rest of Fall semester.  First off, Master Classes (or group classes.  Whatever you want to call them)

Master Class#1

Little Ones (preschool-2nd grade)- Monday, September 23rd @ 3:30-4:15 p.m.

Elementary- Monday September 23rd @ 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Junior High- Tuesday, September 24th @ 3:00-4:15 p.m.

High School-Tuesday, September 24th @ 4:30-5:45 p.m.


Master Class #2

Last Minute Details...

The fiddle recital is tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. Since our group rehearsal didn't work out last week I'm going to try to have one tomorrow at 3:00 at my house for Bile Them Cabbage Down.  This number is for ALL of my students.  If you can make it great! If not I COMPLETELY understand.  Just thought I would try to make it happen before tomorrow.  

If your child is in the Mary Had A Little Lamb/Camptown Races number we are trying to rehearse at 2:30 p.m.  Please let me know if you can make that one.  If not, we will just wing it. 

Dress is casual, or cowboy attire.  Please arrive 10 min early to get tuned so we can start on time.  The group number is first so make sure you are there. :)





Seating for the recital will be on the picnic tables found in the pavilion.  You are welcome to bring blankets or camping chairs to sit on the grass if you would rather.

Last order of business is that I need a tally of everyone you are bringing tomorrow so I have a head count for rootbeer floats tomorrow.  Just leave a comment below, email, or text me.  Thanks so much everyone for your patience through all of this.  It should be an evening to remember!

Cancellation

Hello Everyone,

Lots of people in the last few days have told me they won't be able to make it this Friday for the Bile Them Cabbage Down rehearsal so I am cancelling it and hoping to move it for next week. It might even need to be on the day of the recital.  I will speak with my pianist and see what will work for her.  Thanks for your patience through all of this.  Group numbers are always hard to get organized but very fun to listen to!

Scheduling

I hope this post finds you all well.  Just a reminder that this week I will be teaching at a string camp and won't be teaching my regular schedule.  We will however, be trying to do a few rehearsals for our recital next week.  I'm hoping to get ALL of my students together on Friday (08-09-13) at 3:00 p.m. for a run through of Bile Them Cabbage Down.  Please try to make this work but I understand if it won't be a possibility for some of you.  We will be meeting at my mom's house because my house just won't hold all of you wonderful people.

Summer Fiddle Recital

For all of those attending here is a little more info.  A $5 recital fee will be charged in the month of August.  Please arrive 15 min early so we can get tuned up and start on time.  Dress is casual or fiddle appropriate clothes (i.e. overalls and cowboy hats tee hee.) Can't wait and keep those fiddlers practicing!
